Our technicians are professionally trained in the identification, handling, removal and exclusion of all wildlife that can invade your home. We are all animal lovers here, and we always use the most humane methods of removal.
We will do a complete inspection of the structure to insure all possible access points are identified and sealed to prevent further infestations. All work is guaranteed for one year.
Racoons found in urban locations carry ringworms. Do not clean or remove their feces without gloves and a mask.
Squirrels are very active chewers, and like to chew the insulation from electrical wires. Skunks eat both worms and bulbs as part of their diet, and can destroy a lawn or garden overnight.Squirrels infestations usually occur in attics and crawlspaces in roofs, or within gaps along the roofline and soffits. Often, a female squirrel will find a new shelter in the spring to birth her litter.
The most common removal technique used is to install a one-way door at the primary entry point, while securing all other potential exits. The squirrel will eventually leave out through this door and will be unable to re-enter. Our technician will then return to remove the one-way door and seal the remaining hole.
If babies are present, they are usually removed from within the attic or crawlspace, when possible. They are then reunited with the mother outside the home.
If no direct access to the nest is possible, it is sometimes better to wait for the young to become big enough to use the one-way door (6-8 weeks).
skunks are nocturnal and will rarely be seen in daylight. They will usually dig under patios, stairs, under garages or house foundations and establish a den. Once inside, they can be near impossible to forcibly remove without nasty results!
Skunk removal is usually done by installing 1” hardware mesh around the access point, as well as any potential areas that can be dug out by the skunk. The mesh must be buried about 12” below the service and then angled to prevent the skunk from digging under it. A one-way door is then installed to allow the skunk to leave but prevent re-entry. Once the skunk has moved on, the technician will return to remove the one-way door and complete the screening.
If the problem is a skunk regularly visiting the garden or lawn but not actually living on the property, then trapping and relocating the animal is also an option.
Of all problem wildlife, raccoons are potentially the most destructive. They are excellent climbers and will do extensive damage to a roof to gain access. They are also good diggers, and will take up residence under porches, decks and building foundations.
Removal and exclusion of raccoons is similar to the methods used for squirrels and skunks (screening and one-way door), depending on the area they have made home. More repair work is usually necessary when a roof is concerned, as they often do a lot of damage.
Nuisance raccoons that regularly visit to feed in the garden or terrorize the pets can be trapped and relocated.
Bats, moles, and other invaders are rarely an issue in the Vancouver area, however Raptor’s technicians are fully trained to inspect and solve these issues as well.
